01 Setting Up the Cloud Management Infrastructure

I am now doing the initial setup before I can begin using OEM Cloud Management.

Setting Up the Software Library

I had already set up the software library when I installed Cloud Control as per 3.1 Setting Up the Software Library . My current settings are:


Create Referenced File Location

Used the GUI on NARRABRI to create a NFS share called OEM_Staging in the data volume as shown:


Both NFS and HTTP access is allowed.

Using the procedure at 14.7.3 Configuring a Referenced File Location , the reference file location is added:


Setting Up Self Update

Following Setting Up Self Update :

  1. Self-update was already configured
  2. No self update privileges are assigned
  3. EMCLI was not set up

Deploying the Required Plug-ins

Following Deploying the Required Plug-ins , I reviewed the list of current plug-ins:


I had deployed these plug-ins during the initial installation of Cloud Control as described in 06 Install OMS 12.1.0.3.1 Again .

From the list given under Plug-ins Required to Enable Database as a Service (DBaaS) , I find that I am missing the plug-in called Oracle Consolidation Planning and Chargeback . I used the Plug-in Manager Console to version 12.1.0.5.0 of this plug-in.

This plug-in took nearly 10 minutes to be deployed as shown by the results screen below:


Defining Roles and Assigning Users

Following Defining Roles and Assigning Users , I set up the following administrators:

Customizing the Self Service Login Page

No customisation was done as described in Customizing the Self Service Login Page since this is a test deployment of a private cloud.
